Plywood pre press

Sometimes we get so caught up in the awesome furniture or impressive building that it never even crossed our minds all of the hours and effort that many people have put into creating these brilliant pieces. All good wooden products should go through this very important pre-press phase. This stage is very important in the manufacture of plywood sheets that are applied to a large number of furniture and building materials.

What is the Pre-Press Phase, anyway? It is that time where Hanvy Machinery plywood press is being made ready to be pressed by heat. This step is crucial as it helps to have a sheet prepared for the next step. In the pre-press stage, sheets are trimmed to and grouped accordingly (grouped together as piles), measured or positioned on how thick and nice they are. If this pre-press phase is not carried out properly, then there can be problems with the pressing of sheets resulting in an ugly and inferior plywood.

Plywood Pre-Press Best Practices

An essential best practice is sorting the sheets with respect to their thickness. This will make sure that the when the heat is applied, the sheets will be pressed uniformly. This means that no parts of the sheet will be treated differently during processing, by any awaiting spread. Ideally the best quality sheets should go in the middle and your lower quality sheets on either side. This ensures the most time/care is spent pruning and maintaining the best sheets - and generally a nicer end result.

A different best practice is to reduce the sheets into proper measurements. And it spiraled in a nice swirly when I trimmed all the sheets which made all the even and equal shaped. The latter is crucial, so you do not have any issues in the end product. Different sheet sizes can complicate the pressing stage, causing product rejection due to uncompromising quality standards.
