veneer production process

You know that shiny and smooth furniture? How does it get so glamorous, huhuvojuじ This is done using a special process known as veneer production so the outcome looks pretty nice. Veneers are thin layers of wood that cover furniture. These not only protect your furniture but also enhances the beauty of it. However, the art of making veneers is difficult to learn and even harder to master.

The first step in producing veneer is logs. That means choosing the right wood to be used for the veneers. The logs are then sawn into smaller pieces. Next up, these smaller chunks go into a machine called lathe. A lathe is one of the most vital spinning tools, it turns wood a full 360 degrees around. It spins and shaves away wood in paper-thin layers. Now, we commonly refer to this thin layers as veneers.

The Veneer Making Process

The veneers are molded after which ordered. The veneers are then grouped based on size and quality. Those who are selected become the best ones for use. After sorting, the veneers are ready to be soaked in water. By soaking the wood, doing so will make it much easier to bend and shape. This means the wood can be more easily shaped without splitting or breaking.

After soaking the veneers in water, they are ready to be ironed. It is performed using a special machine that places the veneers under pressure. This machine is applying pressure to the veneer for stiffness and flatness It is very important that the veneer be straight, because not only will it look prettier when glued down on other furniture, but functionally so as well.
