Once it has been soaking for a bit, its folded and placed inside of an apparatus that seperates all the layers into ultra-thin slices. It is necessary that these sheets are saved because they will be the source of the plywood. Another machine then applies glue to these cutsheets of veneer in order for everything to stick together.
The sheets are placed on top of each other after application of the glue Each layer has the wood grain in a different direction. This unique set up helps to make the plywood strong and resilient. The stack is subsequently heated and compressed which helps blow them together to be one strong section. Finally, this is a crucial step since it ensures that the plywood can handle heavy loads and pressure.
These are then transported in big trucks or trains where they become available for sale to potential buyers. These trucks haul the plywood to wherever it is needed. Once they get there, the plywood is meticulously unloaded from trucks or trains and put in a warehouse. A warehouse is a huge building which keeps protection of material until they are in use. Manufacturers will later make everything from furniture and cabinets to other wood products.
The glue spreader is a another crucial tool. It guarantees that the glue is distributed evenly across every single sheet of veneer. This is important to help keep the plywood strong and prevent it from developing weak spots. Poor spreading of the glue will result in poor holding strength when using plywood.
