Veneer is decorative wood and increases the charm of furniture or other things. It has a wide range of use this is why it is in trend. Producing veneer is quite a fascinating process that encompasses many steps and each step plays an important role. So, let us continue with the process of how veneers are created in its entirety.
Veneer is the fifth step of wood processing. It should be a straight as possible and relatively knot-free. Knots Knots are ringlike formations in the buyer that weaken timber. Once the appropriate wood is located, it's quartered and sawn into hefty blocks. From there, the being processed slabs are sent to our factory and here comes the real job.
Veneer cutting requires considerable skill and precision. A veneer slicer (left) is a large machine with an extremely sharp blade. The primary function of this blade is to prevent the wood from crushing or damaging, and it slices through your sheet. The slices need to be smooth and of the same size — While using them in subsequent steps.
Veneer There are different ways of making veneers, each unique and interesting from the other. This is the most common method, by using a rotary veneer cutter. This machine is constructed with a dull end which rotates in circular manner chopping the wood to thin and even pieces. This is mostly done in the production of plywood veneer -- used for construction and furniture.
The faster way is to cut the plywood using a saw. Because this saw cuts by moving back and forth, it also creates very thin slices. It is the method of choice for thick veneers, which would be necessary e.g. in furniture construction or certain applications as veenering process when high charecteristics are needed
The veneers are glued by applying a thin layer of glue to the back face of every individual slice. The veneers are then pressed firmly and bonded together with a unique machine that brings the pressure known as a veneer press. Some pressure is applied by this machine which helps in making the veneers stick together properly. After letting the glue dry 100% you now have a wonderful piece of ready to use wood.
Above and below is the End of veneer Production lastly comes with a coating or sealant. This layer is fundamental as it serves to preserve the wood and makes it look even prettier. The coating may consist of matter like wax, oil or lacquer. Likewise, each material produces a different look and texture in the wood.
